Not big disappointed, but little things. The TOMS shoes did NOT come out. Liars. They were supposed to be available, but they are not. Oh well. That just gives me time to save up for more!!!
But here's the big one: now I'm starting to worry that we shouldn't get a cat.
Here's my thinking. What about when we go on vacation? Who will watch our cat for us? We could put her (I want a girl) in a kennel, but everything seems to be geared for dogs.
I really want a cat, but I don't want to neglect it. I'm praying about it and I'm heading to the shelter today to look. If there were cats like Oreo and Yunyo (previous cats we would have taken in a heart beat), I would totally do it.
I guess it's more of fear of what I've never done before? I've never had an indoor cat before. Ever. And I'm just nervous about it.
What do you think?
This is just my $.02, so take it with a grain of salt, but cats are very resilient animals and can very easily keep themselves entertained. We have three cats and when we go away we ask someone to just stop by once a day and fill up food and water and empty the litter box. I can understand your worries, and they are completely legit, but your kitty would be fine should you take a vacation or something.
ReplyDeleteThey are great companions and I definitely think you should continue with your plans!
Our family has always had dogs and cats. Cats are quite able to manage for several days on their own. If you have a neighbor or friend who could just do a check in (maybe change the litter box and change the water supply, a cat should do just fine.
ReplyDeleteThroughout middle school and high school several neighbors paid my son a small amount to do just what I have described above.
It's good that you are praying about this decision and waiting for God's wisdom. Pets are a responsibility, but I think a cat would be fairly "low maintenance."
